Who We Are

The Traverse Area Gluten Free Support Group (TAGFSG) is Chapter 21 of the Celiac Sprue Association, Inc.  P.O. Box 31700 Omaha, NE  68131-0700. 877-CSA-4-CSA www.csaceliacs.org.

Meetings

All celiacs, their families and caregivers, and those interested in learning more about Celiac Disease and the Gluten Free Diet are welcome.  Our meetings are usually at 7:00 pm at:

We have a new meeting schedule for the 2010 year and a new location.  We will meet every other month starting in January on the 2nd Thursday.  Every other month will be a Dinner Outing starting in February on the 2nd Thursday

What We Do

We provide support and education, through our members, guest speakers and resource information.  For new members we offer a Mentor Program.  Promoting awareness of Celiac Disease and the Gluten-Free Diet is also our priority.

In the past we have had nationally known speakers and authors, including Peter Green, MD author of Celiac Disease: A Hidden Epidemic.

Our newsletter TAGFSG Tidbits in published quarterly and brimming with the latest  news and information.  Read more about it on the Contact Us page.

We also work closely with the Munson Community Health Center and the Traverse City Public Library to provide and recommend the latest books, CD's, and DVD's on the subject.

The Children's Program also meets to provide support, education and resources for families with children on a Gluten Free diet. Children often have special issues with schools, outings, and coming up with creative meals. 

GF Food Manufacturers also send us samples for trying and ask us for our feedback at meetings.
